Reservoir lake shorelines influence plant communities and restoration efforts of native shoreline vegetation. Research into the tolerances of Salix gooddingii and Tamarix ramosissima to varying water levels, flow, and sediment transport indicate that these species propser well in exposed drawdown zones along the shores of impoundments. Physiological tolerances of native and invasive riparian plant species have implications for restoration efforts.
