Moore House is an approximately 1.4 acre site located in York County, Virginia about one mile east of the Village of Yorktown. It is part of Colonial National Historical Park and lies near the park’s eastern most boundary. Sitting at around 40 feet above sea level, the site overlooks the York River to the north. Moore House is accessed by Ballard Street and the Colonial National Historical Park tour road, both of which lead to Moore House Road that runs along the west side of the property. From Moore House Road, a small loop road leads past the house and towards a small parking lot. Buildings on the site include the Moore House, the Outdoor Kitchen, two comfort stations, Icehouse and Wellhead. White picket fences surround the front and back yards which contain a mixture of specimen trees, shrubs and lawn. Lawn extends beyond the fences towards a small family cemetery to the northwest of the house, and riparian vegetation to the north along the York River.
