This survey was made cooperatively by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the National Park Service, and San Juan County Conservation District. Major fieldwork for this soil survey was completed in 2003. Soil names and descriptions were approved in 2004. Unless otherwise indicated, statements in this publication refer to conditions in the park in 2005. This soil survey was developed in conjunction with the National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Program and is intended to serve as the official source document for soils occurring within San Juan Island National Historical Park.
