Tim Goodale led his party on a trail out west on a trail which eventually became known as Goodale's Cutoff. Brief history of westward emigration in the early 1860's and after as opposed to earlier emigration history. Tim Goodale and what was formerly known as Jeffrey's Cutoff were a highly influential part of later emigration history. This article discusses the significance of his contribution to westward expansion and documents how he led one of the largest wagon trains along the trail.
