Also includes a brief discussion of why the Donner party, a part of a larger wagon train to depart from Springfield, Illinois, is commemorated at the town square over any other party to depart from Illinois. Recounts the travels of the Donner Party across the west: beginning with an add for the sale of the Donner family farm in Illinois to correspondence and journal entries from along written by members of the wagon train (including Donner family members).
