The overall goal of the Systemwide Archeological Inventory Program (SAIP) is to "conduct systematic, scientific research to locate, evaluate, and document archeological resources". This document contains park land descriptions and project formulation methodology. A cultural overview containing the history, prehistory, and a maritime history of the Southeast National Park System lands is included.
