The report contains descriptions of the evolution of the different buildings as well as existing conditions, recommendations, and photographs of the facilities at Springfield Armory. The history of this Historic Structure Report for Springfield Armory National Historic Site began with the preparation of the historical data section and historical base map by John Albright, starting in the summer of 1976 with publication in May 1978. This architectural data section was begun by Robert L. Carper, in the fall of 1976 with completion of the first draft in August 1978. The report contains descriptions of the evolution of the different buildings as well as existing conditions, recommendations, and photographs of the facilities.
