This study covers the history and physical configuration of the locomotive No. 8 on Spand, Chalfant & Co. This report was prepared by Steamtown National Historic Site on Spand, Chalfant & Co. 0-6-0 steam locomotive No. 8. The objective was thorough documentation of the locomotive’s construction and operating history, in preparation for its acquisition by Steamtown National Historic Site as a museum display.
