Stones River National Battlefield

Styles SM. 2004. Stones River National Battlefield. Historic Resource Study. National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior

Stones River National Battlefield contains a portion of the site of the Battle of Stones River, the key Civil War battle in the struggle for middle Tennessee. This study uses National Register criteria to identify and evaluate the park’s historic resources. This study establishes and documents the historic contexts associated with the park and also determines the extent to which the surviving historic resources represent those contexts. The completed historic resource study will serve as a tool for site planning, resource management, and the continued development of park interpretive programs.
