This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describes the process by which the Southeast Coast Network’s (SECN) sampling unit grid for the bird, amphibian, and plant community, fire fuels, and salt marsh elevation Vital Signs is created in ArcGIS Model Builder. Because Model Builder allows for the seamless integration of many tools, several other necessary procedures are also included in the tool, including a grid-cell based distance analysis for various features of interest, a surface analysis, and preparing a two-class image classification for FRAGSTATS analysis, and these are also described in this Standard Operating Procedure.
