Lassen Volcanic National Park FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Farris C. 2011. Lassen Volcanic National Park FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Lassen Volcanic National Park in California. The data were collected by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Lava Beds National Monument from 1990 - present. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods for 50 m transects.
