Point Reyes National Seashore FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data
Forrestel A. 2011. Point Reyes National Seashore FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data
Fire effects monitoring data collected at Point Reyes National Seashore in Point Reyes Station, CA. The data were collected during spring/summer/fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Point Reyes from 1990 - 2011. For most plots, data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods for 50 m transects. When other methodologies were used, they are documented in the FFI database.
