Characterization of Ecological Conditions at Swiftcurrent Creek (MT) as Part of the USGS Hydrologic Benchmark Network Study
2012. Characterization of Ecological Conditions at Swiftcurrent Creek (MT) as Part of the USGS Hydrologic Benchmark Network Study. USGS Washington Water Science Center
This project is part of the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program, which assesses water quality, including ecological condition, in rivers and streams across the United States. This study was designed to collect ecological data from sites in the U.S. Geological Survey Hydrologic Benchmark Network (HBN). During 2011, ecological sampling will be conducted at 30 HBN sites throughout the United States. All samples and data will be collected according to NAWQA sampling protocols, including: invertebrate RTH, algae RTH, fish, and physical habitat characterization. This citation documents the site at Swiftcurrent Creek, Montana, which is inside Glacier NP. USGS Hydrologic Benchmark Network site within Glacier National Park. A variety of data exists for this site, including: streamflow, water quality, fish species and counts, and invertebrates. Biological data ata can be accessed at the USGS BioData Retireval web site: https://aquatic.biodata.usgs.gov/previewData.action.Streamflow and waterquality data can be accessed at the HBN site: http://ny.cf.er.usgs.gov/hbn/siteinfo.cfm?ID=Swiftcurrent Creek
