The author uses temperature, pH, conductivity, and turbidity sondes placed at different locations on the proposed Foothills Parkway on the northern side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in locations in and around Townsend, Tennessee. The data collected from the sondes were generated for the purpose of predicting water quality and assess the impacts of highway construction on first-order streams.
