Seismic Profiling with Quarry Blasts in the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina: An Alternative Procedure for Migrating Wide-angle Reflection Data

Hawman RB. 2005. Seismic Profiling with Quarry Blasts in the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina: An Alternative Procedure for Migrating Wide-angle Reflection Data. Seismological Research Letters. 76(1):122

We are using seismic waves generated by quarry blasts to image the deep structure (depth range: 10-60 km) of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina. The purpose of this work is to test several competing models for isostatic compensation of the mountain topography.
