'Frasier fir is an important component of the forested ecosystem in the Greater Smokey Mountains National Park. Regeneration is, in general, dependent on an adequate supply of viable seed. Numerous factors can influence the available seed such as herbivores. Of the many potential herbivores this survey was limited in scope to the insects.'
