Appomattox Manor is located in Hopewell, Virginia on a promontory overlooking the confluence of the James and Appomattox Rivers. The Manor house and several outbuildings are located on the property which is currently privately owned and includes a total of 15 acres. Appomattox Manor is the ancestral home of the Eppes Family and goes back to the days of Colonial America and has played an important part in the history of the United States. A summary of the historically significant story of Appomattox Manor follows including a detailed early history of the site and its association with the Eppes family.
