This article describes the typical habitat for the harvest men. A new genus and species is also describes. There are several pictures and descriptions of body segments for each of the new species. New troglobitic harvestmen are described from lava caves in the states of Washington and Idaho. They include species of Travuniidae: Speleonychia sengeri, new genus and species; Erebomastridae: Speleomaster lexi, new genus and species; Speleomaster pecki, new species. The occurrence of a special species of Triaenonychidae is recorded. These species are highly modifies for darkness and are unrelated to surface species. The family Travuniidae is represented for the first time in the New World. Morphological, ecological and phylogenetic considerations are discussed.
