Burton J. 2012. Natchez Trace Parkway FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Fire effects monitoring data were collected at the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennesse, Alabama and Mississippi by the Natchez Trace Fire Effects Crew. The field season for this park is year round. Plots consist of 50 X 20 and 30 X 20 meter forest plots and 30 m herbaceous and shrub plots. Data is collected to obtain density and basal area of overstory and pole trees, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, herbaceous cover and diversity as well as shrub density. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change.
