Island biogeography theory was applied to small mammal populations on Grand Sable Dunes at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Michigan. Although species diversity was less in isolated patches, no relationship existed between species richness and patch size. Northern range expansion of white-footed mouse was also documented
