Coastal assessment lab and field data entry and certification

Gregory MB. 2013. Coastal assessment lab and field data entry and certification. Southeast Coast Network

The following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the procedure for certifying the Coastal Assessment field data and laboratory water quality data. The purpose for certifying the data is to insure that it is accurate before being used for reports or distributed to other users. Data of concern are flagged as suspicious and noted to data users. Laboratory data (i.e., nutrients and chlorophyll a) are entered manually upon being received from the lab. Field sheets are scanned for inaccuracies and laboratory blanks and replicate samples are compared for accuracy a prior to entry.
