A perennial, native species of cattail (Typa latifolia) has hybridized with a non-native species in the Great Lakes Region. Wetland soils in three national park units in the region were collected to determine if the seed banks contained seed of the native cattail. Molecular analyses of plants germinated from the wetland soils at Cuyahoga National Park are reported.
