The purpose of an Ecological Land Survey (ELS) is to provide field verification data for the classification and description of local-scale (thousands of square meters to tens and hundreds of hectares) ecosystems while simultaneously informing the analysis and mapping of ecosystem components at the landscape-scale (hundred to thousands of hectares to hundreds to thousands of square kilometers). This ELS provides a robust classification and mapping products.
