The 2007 season was both diverse and productive for the Grand Canyon National Park’s (GRCA) Fire Ecology Program. While making 53 FMH plot visits, including a record 20 immediate post-burn reads, all scheduled work was completed while allowing crewmembers wide-ranging training opportunities and contributing to the national firefighting effort. In addition, 91 CBI plots were installed within four fires at GRCA to allow assessment of burn severity. The Fire Ecologist continued to serve as program lead for development of the fire management plan EIS through September.
