Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Williamson N. 2013. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Colorado

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Intermountain Region. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Rocky Mountain National Park from 2000-2004. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods.
