Fire effects monitoring data collected at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Intermountain Region. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Rocky Mountain National Park from 2009-2011. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Line intercept protocols have also been used. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, as well as all shrub transect methods.
