The magnitude of recent glacier recession is described through recent detailed mapping of several larger glaciers in Glacier NP. Results indicate that since 1900 some glaciers have been reduced 40-75 per cent in area and more in volume. Several smaller glaciers have disappeared or nearly so during this same time. Observations of Grinnell, Sperry, Jackson, and Agassiz glaciers and glacier at Iceberg Lake.
