As part of a long-term wastewater pollution control plan, Wastewater Management, Inc. (WWMI) is currently performing a water quality assessment to examine the existing conditions of surface water on Chincoteague Island, VA. This assessment is comprised of are view of applicable reports by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), National Park Service (NPS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and others along with water sampling of surface waters, including Fowling Gut and Mallard Pond.
