Water quality at Carl Sandburg National Historic Site (CARL) during fiscal year 2009 (October 2008 through September 2009) was no different than elsewhere throughout the lower Blue Ridge and Piedmont – showing signs of a prolonged regional drought. Many streams were reduced to trickles thus effecting flow-dependent parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO).
