The larvae of Cicinela theatina (Coleoptera: Cicindelidae), a regional North America sand dune endemic
Pineda PM and Kondratieff BC. 2002. The larvae of Cicinela theatina (Coleoptera: Cicindelidae), a regional North America sand dune endemic. Entomological News. 113(3):163-172
The three instars of the Great Sand Dunes tiger beetle, Cicindela theatina, are described for the first time from larvae collected at the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, Colorado. The larvae of C. theatina appear similar to those of C. hirticollis and C. limbata, both members of the North American repanda group, to which C. theatina belongs.
