A Paleolimnological Examination of Acidity Trends Within Two Cape Cod Kettle Ponds

Doherty AM. 2000. A Paleolimnological Examination of Acidity Trends Within Two Cape Cod Kettle Ponds. Connecticut College

Monitoring data from Cape Cod National Seashore indicated that since 1984 both Snow and Great ponds have experienced declines in pH. Results of this study suggest that although both of these ponds have been acidic in nature for the past hundred years, changes within the diatom assemblages indicate recent increased acidification.
