Hydrologic Evaluation of Duck and Gull Ponds

Horsley & Witten, Inc.. 1996. Hydrologic Evaluation of Duck and Gull Ponds. National Park Service. Wellfleet, Massachusetts

Horsley & Witten, Inc. (H&W) was retained by the National Park Service to conduct the initial phase of a hydrologic evaluation of Gull and Duck Ponds, two kettle ponds located in the Cape Cod National Seashore in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. H&W developed and implemented a ground water, surface water and climatological monitoring program, and developed two numerical ground water flow models to evaluate the adequacy of the monitoring program and make recommendations for continued monitoring. The final goal of the overall program, of which this is the first phase is to quantify the hydrologic budget for each pond which can then be used to evaluate water quality and biological issues associated with the ponds.
