The Developmental History that comprises Part 1 of this Historic Structure Report for the Peterson House, known as the “House Where Lincoln Died,” is a scholarly documentation of the evolution of the historic structure, concentrating on its major character-defining features, spaces, and elements. This focused study of the development of the historic property, as evidenced in its extant built fabric, is paired with a comprehensive physical examination of the property to assess existing conditions and compliance with modern building codes. Part 2 contains information about the treatment and use. Part 3 is a record of the site’s treatment.
