This interpretive plan has three components: 1) Describe education and experiential goals 2) Recommend ways to achieve those goals through interpretive facilities, media and programs, and access to resources 3) Provide necessary background information This plan summarizes some five years of workshops, discussions and deliberations concerning interpretation and education at Hagerman Fossil Beds. It is a long-range plan, recommending actions that may occur over the next 15 years. It joins an annual interpretive plan and an interpretive data base to constitute a comprehensive interpretive plan for Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. It is prepared in conjunction with a general management plan/environmental impact statement for the monument, and a site selection study/environmental assessment for the research center/museum. It is the primary source of direction for the design of interpretation and education media, facilities, and programs at the monument.
