Milton Perry [1926 to August 20, 1991] served as the first curator of the Truman Library until his retirement in 1976. Perry had the unique benefit of working with his historical source and, as a result, worked closely with Harry S Truman to develop the exhibits in the library. As Perry relates his many stories about working with Truman, he allows the reader to understand Truman’s dedication to the library and the public who came to visit and better understand the office of the presidency.
