Peaceful Valley Ranch: An Extended Narrative History
Penny DM, Larson TK, Larson-Tibesar Associates. 1993. Peaceful Valley Ranch: An Extended Narrative History. Laramie, WY
The Peaceful Valley Ranch was founded by Benjamin Lamb in the 1880s. Three buildings survive from the ranch's historic period -- the bam, lodge, and ranch house. These buildings reflect significant associations with the development of open range cattle ranching, recreational dude ranch operations, and the National Park system in the region. Because these late nineteenth and early twentieth century resources illustrate the changing tastes, uses, and building traditions associated with typical ranch development, the Peaceful Valley Ranch is eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places under criteria A and C.
