The methods and protocols used for the multi-agency reef visual census (RVC) monitoring in the Florida Keys are documented in detail in Brandt et al. (2009). However, these methods and protocols are not specific to any agency and therefore do not cover some important details regarding the collection and storage of reef fish data as it pertains specifically to the South Florida / Caribbean Network (SFCN) office of the National Park Service (NPS) as well as Biscayne National Park (BISC). This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is meant to fill in these missing details. Throughout this document, other SOPs and appendices are referred to which can be found in Brandt et al. (2009).
