Forest health monitoring in the Northeast Temperate Network: 2012 summary report

Miller KM, Mitchell BR, Dieffenbach FW, Wheeler JS. 2013. Forest health monitoring in the Northeast Temperate Network: 2012 summary report. Natural Resource Report. NPS/NETN/NRR—2013/678. National Park Service. Fort Collins, Colorado

The 2012 field season marked the Northeast Temperate Network (NETN) Inventory and Monitoring Program’s third year of repeat sampling in forest monitoring plots, and now three quarters of all forest plots have been sampled twice. This report contains an ecological integrity scorecard for the following parks that were sampled in 2012: Acadia National Park (ACAD), Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park (MABI), Minute Man National Historical Park (MIMA), Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site (SAGA), and Saratoga National Historical Park (SARA). A second section compares forest metrics for all of the NETN parks with U.S. Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) plots located in the same ecological subsection of each park.
