The Systematic Reconnaissance Flight System (SRFSYSTEM) was written to handle the data management and statistical analysis needs of the Systematic Reconnaissance Flight Study conducted by the South Florida Research Center. The SRF study involves regular aerial transect sampling of wading bird populations in the Everglades National Park, the Big Cypress National Preserve, and water conservation areas to the north of the park. Each survey consists of counts of wading birds along aerial transects arranged systematically across the study areas. The objective of these surveys are to provide maps of the spatial distribution of wading birds in the study region and to compare wading bird densities over time and across study region segments.
