A study conducted in Acadia National Park dealing with the winter use in the park and the visitor's experience. "The goal of this investigation was to gather social science information about winter visitors to Acadia National Park such as their activities, participation patterns, attitudesand evaluations as described below:• Visitor demographics (place of residence, distance traveled to the park, age,gender etc.)• Visitor activities and use patterns (prior use, frequency of use, participation inother uses or activities)• Visitor evaluations of park services such as availability of information, parking,quality of restrooms, and carriage road grooming• Visitor perceptions of recreation experiences such as potential crowding andconflict concerns (with whom, location and causes), and interests and/or concernswith certain new uses as well as a few traditional uses (ski-joring, ice fishinghouses, snow mobiles on certain sections of carriage roads, dog sledding)." /STUDY LOCATIONS:/ /MOUNT DESERT ISLAND/Jordan Pond/Eagle Lake/BrownMountain/Ocean Drive/Hulls Cove Visitor Center
