The purpose of this small Historic Resources Study is to evaluate the historical and/or architectural significance of all u.s. Forest Ser¥ice and National Park Service developments in Lava Beds National Monument, Modoc County,California. It does not deal at all with the historic structures and sites related to the Mod~c Indian War, for they were the subject of a Historic Resources Study prepared by Research Historian Erwin Thompson and published by the National Park Service, 'Denver Service Center in 1967.
