A report on the interactions between species of rats and the ecological communities they live in. Ecological communities are composed of organisms within a complex system that are influenced by various abiotic and biotic features and interactions with other organisms. Such complex structure has compelled biologists to search for an explanation to aid in understanding the patterns of species distribution and abundance within these complex communities. These processes are influenced by the ability to tolerate changes in the environment, the availability of essential resources, and interactions with related and unrelated species. In order to explain how species are distributed throughout a particular habitat, ecologists must understand what role species' interactions play within the community. Determining the effects of different types of interactions among the community's populations will ultimately allow us to interpret the consequences of such interactions.
