In conjunction with the restoration and adaptive reuse of the Harriet Dean House, one of several historic structures within Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Midwest Archeological Center carried out limited archeological testing on the house lot associated with that former dwelling. Those investigations were designed to exanrine areas that might be impacted by the restoration effort and to provide information that might also contribute to hi storical accuracy of the restoration plan. In addition, Center personnel monitored certain demolition activities associated with the restoration effort, particularly during the period leading up to when the structure was lifted off its foundations prior to removal and replacement of those wall s. TIlls report summarizes the field investigations and other observations related to this development project.
