A description of a rare plant found in Acadia National Park and a preliminary checklist of flora on Baker Island. FLORA - VASCULAR: Notes the Maine threatened Calamagrostis stricta subsp. inexpansa is growing on a carriage road near the Amphitheater and this section of the road is slated for restoration and clearing work. Recommends transplanting before road restoration occurs. Also notes concern over old growth hardwood forest in the Little Harbor Brook watershed in the Amphitheater. Rare plants are noted growing in this watershed. Recommends a floral inventory of Baker Island before sheep are allowed to roam freely. Notes presence of 2 rare species, Aster foliaceus and Iris setosa var. canadensis, and lists other species that should be searched for. Includes a preliminary flora of Baker Island.
