This introduction to the Manzanar National Historic Site Bibliography consists of four pans, The opening section provides a historical overview of the Manzanar War Relocation Center. Although this site-centered bibhography encompasses the three incarnations of Manzanar as historical settlement space-Paiute communities, through 1850; Euro-American agricultural colony, 1910-1935; and Japanese American relocation center, 1942-1945 - its primary emphasis (consistent with the legislation establishing Manzanar as a national historical site) is the World War II period. The second section will present a hrief re"iew of the literature treating the relocation center at Manzanar.
