September of 1995 brough Hurricane Luis and Hurricane Marilyn to Buck Island Reef National Monument. These natural disasters interrupted research that was being conducted on the nesting of Hawksbill sea turtles. The impacts of hurricanes on nesting success and the research program are highlighted in this document, as well as suggestions on how to prepare for research during hurricane season.
