Natural geologic processes have resulted in formation of near-vertical faces along some parts of the escarpment near the top of Drewry’s Bluff. In other areas, the upper slope of the bluff is a more stable, gentle slope. The near-vertical faces are unstable and will eventually fail, slumping down the hillside as a series of small debris flows. There is nothing that can be done to prevent these slumps from occurring. It is unlikely that any type of engineering solution would stabilize the slopes of the bluff in their current condition.
