Description of local hydrogeology and construction of the deep artesian well that resulted in formation of a large pond. The well was drilled in 1916 as an oil and gas test well, but instead encounteed warm water at a depth of about 1000 feet. The well flowed more than 1000 gpm for many years before casing breaks and loss of artesian pressure resulted in diminished flow. The site is dry today.
