To eliminate duplicative efforts, inventory and monitoring networks should utilize the large amount of information about invasive exotic species published on the Web sites of numerous federal, state, and private agencies. Prompt dissemination of such information to National Park Service resource managers is a crucial step in planning a rapid response to the early stages of an invasive exotic species outbreak. Mining useful data on invasive exotic species from multiple dedicated Web sites can be relatively simple and cost-effective. This article introduces a practical application of the cyberinfrastructure model of invasive exotic species management in the context of the interactive Web. It also introduces free, Web-based software that enables the user to filter data from multiple dedicated Web sites.
