The National Park Service proposes to improve helicopter landing sites at six hydrologic monitoring stations ih Big Cypress National Preserve. The selected sites encompass five management units of the Preserve, all of which would be within the portion of the Preserve which is inside the boundaries of Collier County (see Region and Vicinity maps). Five alternatives for addressing the proposed action were evaluated in this document, in addition to the no-action alternative. The alternatives were developed with consideration of NPS man·agement policies, legislative mandates, approved park planning documents and employee and public safety.
